How to Create the Perfect Skydive Proposal

Are you ready to pop the question and are just waiting for the perfect time and place? Consider a skydive proposal. It's completely memorable, it will be a great story to share for generations, and it's the perfect pairing of two heart-pumping experiences.

Skydive Proposal

We love hosting proposals at Skydive Indianapolis, and when we were in Greensburg, even hosted an Extreme Proposal for Good Morning America.  Trust us, we know how to time your proposal perfectly and make it a complete, thrilling surprise.

PLAN  AHEAD FOR YOUR SKYDIVE PROPOSAL

Let us know ahead of time that you want to turn your skydive into a skydiving proposal. We can work with you to bring your ideas to life,  and to make sure both you and our instructors know what to expect.

WHEN WILL YOU POP THE QUESTION?

After You Land. Most of our proposals happen after landing. Our expert tandem instructors will time it perfectly, making sure you land first and have ample time to get your harness off, get the ring ready, and are in perfect position when your soon-to-be fiancee arrives. Your videographers will be there too, capturing every moment.

Before You Jump. We don't see this a lot, but if you like the idea of proposing and then jumping, there are two ways to do it.

Before you board the airplane. You would need to propose before getting on the plane, then board, ready to leap into your new life together.

On the plane. Here's how this scenario could work: We would make sure you are sitting across from your fiancee-to-be on the plane. As the plane nears jump altitude, you could turn and ask him or her to marry you. (The plane is somewhat loud, so you will need to speak loudly.)  Then, you jump out of the plane at 13,000 feet, free fall at 120 mph, and celebrate your new commitment when you land.

OPTIONS FOR YOUR EXTREME PROPOSAL

Whether you propose before you board, on the plane or after landing, there are a lot of options for you at landing.

Friends and family at skydive proposal

Family and friends. If you want family and friends to be part of the moment, we can bring them out to the landing area to witness the proposal. If you want their presence to be surprise, we advise having them go to nearby restaurant and we will call them when it's time to head over to the hangar.

Banners, flowers, and more. If you plan to propose at landing, we have a large banner that can be seen from the air. As soon as the plane is in the air, our staff will go to the landing area and secure it.  When your fiancee is under canopy, soaring above the landing area, he or she will be able to see the banner —and the words, "Will You Marry Me."  If you don't want to use the banner or have one of your own, just let us know.  If you'd like flowers, teddy bears or any other special items for your proposal landing, our staff will do everything we can to accommodate you.

Post-proposal celebration:  If you and your fiancee, family and friends would like to stay at the dropzone a little longer to offer congratulations and just bask in the moment, we have shaded picnic tables and you are welcome to bring your own snacks and drinks.

A WORD OR TWO ABOUT THE RING

Loose objects are not allowed in free fall. Even if they were, we can't imagine you'd want to risk the rock. PLEASE KNOW: You will not be allowed to take the ring or the box with you on your skydive. Not to worry, you can leave the engagement ring with a member of our office staff or a family member or friend. We'll make sure you have it as soon as you land.
