How to make the most of a weather hold

To make the most of a weather hold, you first have to accept that they happen and it won't be the end of the world — or your day. Low clouds come through, winds pick up and you’ve got to wait it out. There are two ways of looking at this: 1) Waiting sucks or 2) I’m in a laid-backed place with friends, family and a bunch of cool people, may as well make the most of it!

If you’re in the latter camp, here are some tips to make the most of your wait.

• Grab a picnic table and play a game. Skydive Indianapolis has a bunch of games you can borrow, from Uno to Cards Against Humanity, chess to Left Center Right (LCR)

• Toss a football, Frisbee, play the ring game, bocci and cornhole. (We have all this stuff, too.)

• Try some great online apps like Heads Up, Charades, 20 Questions, Would You Rather, What Would You Choose, Wealthy Walrus and so on and so on.

• Talk to our instructors, packers and skydivers to learn more about the sport.

• Play with the dogs

• Grab a bite to eat

• REPEAT!

Trust us, the time will pass faster and your skydive experience will be that much better.

If you have any other ideas, we’d love to hear them!
